Living Streams: Binding Site through the flow of Water
by Dipasha Rathod

This project aims to rehabilitate the eroded Sant Sarovar Dam site by placing water at the center of ecological restoration and landscape rejuvenation efforts. Water is conceived as a multifunctional resource, serving as an emergency infrastructure, habitat, and climate moderator. A sophisticated stormwater system will feature water bodies that slow runoff, enhance filtration, and recharge groundwater, ensuring sustained flow during dry seasons. This system will restore the site’s ecological balance and improve its resilience to climate fluctuations. Beyond environmental remediation, the project integrates eco-recreational spaces with interactive water features, encouraging community engagement and fostering environmental stewardship. These spaces will serve as hubs for education and recreation, helping the local population connect with their natural surroundings while promoting sustainable practices. Ultimately, the project will create a thriving, balanced ecosystem while enhancing community well-being through connectivity and hydro-recreational opportunities centered around water.
