The Ho Chi Minh City Winter School immerses students in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic urban environments, where colonial heritage, rapid urbanisation, and vibrant street life intersect. Through field observation, mapping, spatial analysis, and site-based investigations, students examine the city’s public spaces, mobility networks, neighbourhoods, and urban form while engaging with its social, cultural, and environmental contexts. The programme encourages critical comparison with Ahmedabad, enabling students to understand how two rapidly evolving Asian cities respond to contemporary urban challenges through different planning, design, and governance approaches.
